The camera was not moving down very well. So I took apart the camera and found that the screw base was broken off. The base was stuck to the camera body...

... and the casting with the broken bits. So I unscrwed the broken bits, super-glued them together and left for it to dry for a few hours. Then put them together and it worked well!
